Bucket gardening - growing tomatoes in 5-gallon buckets. The wire cages weren't added when I first planted them, but should have been. It's a lot easier to get the cages around the tomato plants if you do it early. Wait until they've grown too large and difficulty factor of this job multiplies considerably. At this point in their growth I'm still able to turn the buckets 180 degrees each day to give them an equal balance of sunlight on each side. Later this wouldn't be possible and they began to take on a noticeable lean to the right. |
